Attention: Neville Township Seniors and Persons with Special Medical Needs:
As a senior or person with medical needs, there are extra things to consider in an emergency. During severe weather, evacuations, shelter-in-place orders, power outages, or boil water advisories, you may need to take extra precautions.
The Township of Neville maintains a Special Needs Registry to help our first responders know who might require extra assistance or special notifications during an emergency.
Please consider signing up for the Special Needs Registry if you:
- Use a life support system including oxygen, a respirator, or a ventilator.
- Have trouble walking or have limited mobility and may need help to evacuate during an emergency.
- Are blind, deaf, hard of hearing or may need special notice during an emergency.
- Have memory impairment, speech, developmental or mental health issues that may limit abilities.

Please remember the best defense against any emergency is always personal preparedness. During an emergency the government and responders may not be able to meet your needs as quickly as you would like. It is important to also make your own emergency plan and to be prepared for your own safety. Pre-plan to stay with family or friends, as emergency shelters are not always the best place for persons with medical needs. Be prepared for power outages, extreme heat or cold, and if your doctor, pharmacy, or businesses are closed.
